Stick Marsh - Farm 13 Fishing Reports

stick marsh bass guides, stick marsh/farm 13 guide services
Here you will find fishing report and fishing information for Stick Marsh and Farm 13. This body of water was created in 1987 by the South Florida Water Management District for flood control on the St Johns River. Previously this was a farm and wooded area that had a dyke built around it and flooded. No timber or brush was removed when this was done and it made plenty of structure, and obstacles for boat problems. The average depth of this body of water is 3 to 5 feet.

For fishing guide trips on Stick Marsh care must be taken as there are many obstacles in the water such as unseen timber and floating logs. Bass fishing on the Stick Marsh can be one of the very best trips ever depending on the time of year you go.

Spring Fishing Report 2007

Fishing right now on the Stick Marsh - farm 13 is hit or miss depending on water levels and the cold fronts. Some days are ok, and then there are days when the water is low and stagnant, and the temperature is cold and the fish are sluggish. These days are the ones to avoid.

Stick Marsh Farm 13 is both a great place to fish, and at times a nightmare. This time of year is like rolling dice. If you want my opinion on bass fishing in Florida, spend some time here, but find something else if you really want to catch some good fish. The Marsh is very unpredictable. A lot of the local guides and fishermen are fishing Garcia right now because of the Marsh and its water levels and hit or miss days.

If you are coming to Central Florida and the Disney area, I would have to say right now honestly that it is not worth the drive to go to the Stick Marsh right now. we are catching plenty of fish here locally in the area and it is worth far more than the long drive to the Marsh.
